Instagram Musings: No Makeup

I’ve finally started to get used to seeing myself without makeup. I’ve never really been comfortable without it but I’m working to accept it. To be honest, I’ve had a hard time dealing with my post partum appearance. My body’s not where I want it to be, I have to wear clothes that are easy to nurse in (basically gym clothes) and there’s no sense in putting on makeup when I rarely leave the house. All this piles up and leaves me ultimately feeling unattractive. My clothes, makeup and hair have always been crutches, supporting my fragile self-confidence. When they are taken away, I crumble. So this all has been a good growing experience for me. I’m once again starting from scratch and learning to find the beauty in my true, raw self. 📸: Selah, my 4-year-old
